First, I apologize for not getting this out at the end of the week. On Friday, I was called out because my daughter got hurt at school in PE. Parenting is never boring. She is going to be fine, but they want her to go to Iowa City to an orthopedic doctor.
Spelling and Grammar
Each day, we start with a proofreading activity. From there, we start our spelling. Spelling is a confusing list this week, so I am going to add it to the bottom again. Kids will need help with their spelling this week.
Reading:
We are still working on poetry terminology and techniques. We have worked on several types of poems as well as reading and analyzing poetry. Some of the techniques that we have used are hyperbole, personification, onomatopoeia, simile and metaphor. Students are writing some beautiful poetry that I hope to share with you soon.
Math
We will finish our dividing decimals chapter this week. We will be working on having decimals in both the dividend and the divisor. So far, we are doing great. Once we finish this we will start our fraction units.
Writing
We are still working on opinion papers. We will continue to work on our papers this week.
