This weekend, we gather to celebrate the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
In the first reading, Isaiah tells the Israelites that their light shall break forth like the dawn when they remove oppression, lies, and malicious speech from their midst and care for the hungry, the naked, and the homeless. In his Letter to the Corinthians, Saint Paul says he relies on the power of God to announce the mystery of Christ crucified. In the Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples that they are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. They must shine before others; their good deeds will glorify God. You can review this weekend's scriptures or consider this meditation.

This weekend's second collection will support our parish's religious education programming. This Tuesday, many young people will receive their First Reconciliation.

Please join the Baltimore Peace Movement and the BLM Interfaith Coalition to support peace in Baltimore City on Sunday February 5 at 4:00 pm. Charity Wine Tasting Fundraiser
Join the Knights of Columbus, Ladies of Mary Auxiliary, and guest sommelier, Dr. Victor McCrary, for our Wines of Romance charity wine tasting fundraiser on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at OMIFC. Brave Voices/Brave Choices: New Lens for Howard County, trying to help us answer the question "What can I do?" Learn more about this Howard County Library program.
Come and support the arts at our partner school, Beechfield Elementary / Middle school, in Baltimore City. They are holding an art Auction on February 16 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. There will be dinner and time to look at the art from 5-6 pm and then the auction will be held from 6-7:30 pm. There will be art from students at Beechfield, Jubilee Arts, and the Baltimore Design School. Proceeds will be shared between the School and artists.
