2-3-23
The whole school had so many great learning opportunities this week to grow in faith, and they were all wrapped up in a lot of fun. Mrs. Fritz and Mrs. Heisdorffer did a wonderful job planning activities for the week.
I was also really happy to see several of my students come in for math activities last night.
Valentines Day is coming up the week after next. I am not planning on having them make a Valentines box or bag at school, so please make something at home to bring in. We have sixteen students in our class, please bring a Valentine card for each student by Feb. 14th.
Our students are:
Dalia Lindy Caroline
Merris Conagher Wyatt
Sloan Natalia
Maxton Nicolas
Paxton Rosemarie
Emmett Isaac
Grady Bennett
Math-
We've just started regrouping with subtraction in both the one's and ten's place value. The students need as much practice as possible with this in order to do it on their own. Please have them practice this at home. We only have one lesson left in chapter 6 for Monday, then we'll review 3-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping next Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday they'll take the test.
Reading-
Their spelling and reading tests will be next Friday, Feb. 10th. Next week, I have mystery cases they will have to solve as a way to practice conclusions. The class will also discuss words with the prefixes pre, and mis.
Science and Social Studies-
During science, the class will help make flight lines and discuss how compressed air can be used to make balloon rockets. We've discussed landforms; I'll have the students practice drawing pictures of the most common landforms, then we'll look at all the different landforms in the US. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful weekend!!
