Hi there, everyone! Here is our Friday Flocknote for this week. This will be our final Flocknote for a few weeks. I will be away from this upcoming Thursday to the following Friday & so I won't be doing a Flocknote for those 2 weeks. Our Friday Flocknotes will return on Friday, February 24th.
1). Coffee & Doughnuts: Coffee & Doughnuts will return Sunday, Feb. 12th following the 9 am Mass. In discussion with our Social Committee the feeling was that after 5 pm Saturday Mass most people are heading out or home to dinner or it's too late for coffee so moving forward coffee & doughnuts will be on Sunday's.
2) Catholic Charities Appeal:
The weekend of Feb. 18/19, we will participate in our annual Diocesan Catholic Charities appeal. The theme of this year’s appeal is “A time to heal, a time to help.” Some may have already received an invitation to give in the mail, I invite you, if you have & are able, to respond generously to the invitation to help those around us. If you would like to, you can check out some of the stories of those who are helped by Catholic Charities by going to
www.CatholicCommunity.org/2023Appeal.
If you have the time, I would strongly encourage you to check out the video for this year’s appeal. We’ll play an audio recording from Bishop Malesic next weekend at Mass, but the video CD helps in a tremendous way to put a face to the appeal. I think that it gives us an opportunity to see exactly whose lives our generosity is making a difference in. It can be easy to think of it as just being asked to put some money in an envelope to help someone somewhere at some point in time, but through this video we can see exactly who we are giving the opportunity to heal & to help. I’d invite you to check it out.
3) Ash Wednesday: Ash Wednesday will be Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. Masses will be at 8:30 am & 7:00 pm.
4) Stations of the Cross: Beginning on Friday, Feb. 24th the Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday following the 9 am Mass.
Have a Blessed Week!
Fr. John
