February 5, 2023: Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The work of the Church of the Diocese of San Jose and around the world has been of great hope and blessing this past year. We have participated in both the Universal Synod call by our Holy Father Francis and the Diocesan Synod call by Bishop Oscar Cantú as we prepare for the 50th Anniversary of the Diocese in the future.
In this wonderful and holy work we are called by God to work in “Supporting Our Mission Together” through our giving to the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA)...

February 3: Blessing of the Throats
The traditional Blessing of the Throats will be given on the feast of Saint Blaise at the 7:00 PM first Friday bilingual Mass. The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will also be offered at the end of Mass.
10:00 AM Mass: Scout Sunday Blessing
All parishioners involved in scouting (Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Troops of St. George, American Heritage Girls, Little Flowers, etc.) are invited to receive a special blessing this Scout Sunday, February 5 at the 10:00 AM Mass.

February 12: Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast
The Knights of Columbus will offer their traditional Pancake Breakfast of 3 pancakes, 2 sausages and eggs after the 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM Masses on February 12.
The breakfasts will be served in to-go boxes and can be picked up in front of the Community Center.
Donations are gratefully accepted to support the many causes of the Knights of Columbus!
February 11 - 12: Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be offered after all Masses next weekend in observance of the World Day of the Sick and the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Join our training program at the School of Gratitude of the Franciscans of Mary, so that in imitation of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Blessed Virgin Mary we advance in the knowledge of our faith and together seek holiness. We meet every Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. There is a course for adults and a course for children at the same time. The program is in Spanish.

God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as sisters, brothers, religious priests, consecrated virgins, and hermits, as well as members of Secular Institutes. Renew their knowledge and love of you, and send your Holy Spirit to help them respond generously and courageously to your will. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Sacristans Needed
Sacristan volunteers set up for Mass, including setting out the hosts, wine, sacred vessels and books, among other duties. Training is included!
