Our Diocese' Welcome the Stranger Committee is forming a Parish Companion Program to assist families who will soon be separated from one another by deportation. Many times, parents are forced to leave their children behind, wrestle with the legal process in establishing guardianship, transferring assets, accessing community resources, and providing assistance to their children left behind. Our diocese is looking for people to join the Parish Companions who will be a ‘ground level’ companion to supportively walk with our Catholic brothers and sisters facing deportation as they navigate these challenges.
A training session takes place on Saturday, June 9 from 10 am - 3 pm at
Sagrada Familia Parish
7719 Detroit Rd. Cleveland, OH 44102

No prerequisites are required for this ministry. The training session will prepare you for what to expect, how to help, and whom to turn to for help. While we may not be able to help our Catholic family avoid deportation, we can nevertheless show them our love and prayers by being a companion to them. Thank you for discerning this timely ministry.
