As we prepare to begin Lent, perhaps after a hearty dinner of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, may we take time for extra prayer, particularly the Stations of the Cross, and various penances to overcome our weaknesses and to atone for our sins.

We are blessed to have 22 parish members who are trained Eucharistic ministers to visit those admitted to the hospital.
The Minister will bring the Holy Eucharist to you if you desire.
If you are admitted to the hospital and would like a visit,… you, a family member or a friend must notify the church office at 846-5245 with your name, your specific hospital and room number.
A minister will be scheduled to visit on either Thursday or Friday morning…..and also on Sunday.
There is no need to tell the office when you are discharged as the minister will determine that as part of their protocol.

Eucharistic Revival:
Understanding "Real Presence"
In response to a PEW survey that showed that 62% of Catholics and 80% of young Catholics do not say they believe in the "real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist," the US Catholic bishops have initiated a Eucharistic Revival 2022-2024.
Jerry Carney will unpack the survey results and suggest a path to understanding, and even celebrating, the real presence.

There's something about taking a step away from our normal lives into a place that's set aside that rejuvenates us, isn't there? Even in the Gospels, Jesus retreated into the mountains to connect with His father. This Lent, journey into the foothills of the Shenandoah and join young adults from across the diocese for a day of reflection. Sister Maria, one of the nuns at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery, will lead us through the theme of Your Pain Will Turn Into Joy: Walking Through the Desert with Mary, Our Mother.
The Lenten Day of Reflection for Young Adults is Saturday, March 25 from 10am-6:30pm at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Crozet, VA. $30/person includes lunch and other retreat supplies.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
