Lent is a time to grow in holiness and prepare ourselves to enter into the Paschal Mystery (the suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus).
Easter is not that far away, and as a parish we want to spend Lent renewing our faith in Christ and His Church. We are all in this together, and we are praying for you!
Here are some ideas to have a meaningful and grace-filled Lent.
1) Pray More
- Go to Mass, Saturdays at 5:30pm Vigil or Sundays 7:30am or 10 am, & really enter into the Mass by praying before & after Mass & Communion.
- Go to more than one Mass a week like attending Daily Masses, 7:00 am, which is a awesome way to begin your day.
- Say grace at every meal, breakfast, lunch, & dinner & yes pray before you eat that Chocolate Bar.
- Understand, appreciate & experience Adoration opportunities this season
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays by visiting Jesus in the Adoration Chapel from 8am - 4pm
- Thursdays in Lent in the Church from 8am - 9pm then in the Chapel from 9pm to Midnight.
- Sundays in Lent in the Church from 6:30 - 7pm

2) Fast
- Follow the Church's practice of fasting from meat on Fridays.
- Find something to give up or add to your routine as a small sacrifice to help grow in holiness.
- Find other things to fast from, tv, internet, media?

3) Give Alms
- Be generous in sharing your gifts with others this Lenten season.
- Be bold but not reckless. What can give to others in need?
- Participate in the Annual Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl (Available the First Weekend in Lent at all the Masses more info https://www.crsricebowl.org/)
- Special Second Collection the weekend of February 25/26 for Relief for Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Syria
4) Invite Others participate in Church
- Lent is a perfect time to get out of your comfort zone and invite family, friends, and neighbors to Church.
- Join us at our Stations of the Cross at 6:30 PM followed by a Soup Supper Fridays in Lent all are invited.
