ADVENTURE SUCCESSES

My wife and I got word recently that our sister-in-law was recently diagnosed with AML (Acute Mylocytic Leukemia) and is presently receiving treatment. I have been praying for her ever since we received news. She has been a special gift and joy to our family ever since I first met her, and their marriage over twenty years ago. I have been in contact with her, and she is keeping in excellent spirits and appreciates the thoughts and prayers of family and friends.

BEGIN PRAYER

Make the sign of the Cross.
Briefly center yourself in God's Presence.
Take at least one deep breath in and out.
Say "Come, Lord Jesus. Come, Holy Spirit."

THE CHALLENGE: Choose Your Own Adventure

Choose to pray one of the following: a, b, or c.
(If feeling ambitious, you may choose more than one adventure)

a. Lord God, show me your love for me today…

b. Lord God, point out someone who needs Your love & grace today...
If you notice the person you believe God is pointing out to you, you may either choose to interact with them, or you may decide to simply pray for them in the moment. This may be in public, in your home, or the Lord may simply bring someone to your mind, and then you can choose to pray for them, or possibly reach out to them by text or phone call.

c. Lord God, send me someone who needs your love today…

...after choosing your “adventure(s),” continue the prayer …

…because Father, every person on this earth was made for love which means made for You! Father I know you love me and delight in me even when I am not aware of that love. Holy Spirit, you delight in making me an instrument of Divine grace to lead people to encounter Jesus. Help me, Lord Jesus, to awaken and see and feel how & where you are present in my daily life, and also where You are asking me to show your Heart for others! Amen.

AFFIRMATIONS (please say these to yourself)

I trust that God loves me, will lead me, and never abandons me.
I will not become discouraged. Discouragement never comes from God.
God is with me on this journey, and becoming aware of His presence takes time.
God is always patient. The Holy Spirit dwells within me and I am never alone.
I will not tire of asking God for help, since God delights in my asking.

Heavenly Father, Your Son’s Sacred Heart is the beating center of grace in family life. I humbly ask You to protect, heal and strengthen my family through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus,

have mercy on us.

Mother Mary, St. Joseph and St. Luke, pray for us.

Amen.

When we share what God is doing in our lives, no matter how big or small, it gives God glory! You never know the impact of your sharing on someone else! Anything you share will only be visible to the monitor.

Examples of Successes

You prayed option a.
- You felt more peace from your daily prayers than normal, or you felt encouragement or success in some facet of your day (peace and encouragement come most often from God).

- Someone surfaces in your mind, you call or reach out to them and you discover they are having a hard time, and are able to encourage them.
You prayed option c.
- Someone begins speaking to you in line at the grocery store, and instead of doing the minimum to be polite, you engage the conversation and are able to bless them in some way.
