Mary Dudas, Fallon Center Director
has been responsible for the Fallon Center operations since 2004.
The Fallon Center hosts weddings, anniversaries, parties, fundraisers and numerous receptions for the Parish, Diocese and members of the greater community. To give an idea of the scale of activity, she has catered more than 1200 weddings, and served 500 people in a day! (Note: all proceeds from the catering activities goes to the Parish.) There are as many as 4 major events per week in the Fallon Center main room.
Mary’s team supports all of them logistically and caters most all of them. To accomplish this, she trains, schedules and manages a very active kitchen staff.
Mary’s early career was in the healthcare field. After obtaining her BS Degree in Health Management from Ursuline College she spent 25 years in the field of Respiratory Therapy. Mary became a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She managed the Department of Respiratory Therapy for Lake County Hospital in Ohio for 25 years. She served as a member of the hospital Board of Trustees and was elected to the American Lung Association Board.
She and her husband, Ed Dudas, who was also active in the Healthcare field also, moved to Raleigh in 1989. They joined Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in 1990.
After devoting a decade to raising a family, Mary enrolled in the culinary school at Wake Tech. When the Fallon Center was completed she assumed her duties as Director in 2004.
Mary is active in a number of ministries in addition to the Fallon Center. They are:
· VP of the Altar Guild
· Legion of Mary
· Life Teen Leadership Team
· Spiritual Life Committee
· Nursing Home Visitations with her family for last 20 years
· And her passion, the Holy Family Adoration Chapel Leadership Team.
Mary and Ed have six children. All are members of the Legion of Mary. Rachel and Mary Katharine are Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, as are Mary and Ed.
