MORTAL SIN VS. VENIAL SIN
Because Lent is a season of penance, I thought it would be a good time to discuss the difference between mortal and venial sin.
All sin is serious and wounds our relationship with God and with our brothers and sisters. Sometimes, people have the impression that venial sins are not serious sins. They are. Our Annual Stewardship Report Is Here!
By our baptism we are called to be stewards of God’s gifts to us; to use them in ways that build up our families, our parish, our community and our world.
In that stewardship, we are encouraged to be deliberate and sacrificial in weighing our various obligations with our limited resources as we decide where to invest our time, money and effort.
We are grateful for all you have given and continue to give to support our parish community. To that effect, we are happy to share with you our 2021-2022 Stewardship Report, along with a One Church Growing Together Campaign Update, showing your gifts in action at St. Eugene.

In the Church
The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross or via Crucis, commemorate Jesus's passion and death on the cross. There are 14 stations that each depict a moment on his journey to Calvary. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage, with the individual moving from station to station to pray and reflect on a specific event from Christ's last day. Prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete. Please join us every Friday of Lent for this special devotional service.
Join Us for Fish Fry Fridays
Weekly at 6:30 p.m. in Ross Hall
Hosted by Knights of Columbus, come enjoy fried fish with tartar sauce, hush puppies, coleslaw and French fries! Donations are encouraged, and proceeds will benefit St. Eugene youth and humanitarian causes. Dine-in and carry-out options are available. All are welcome.
Host or Help With Our Sunday Breakfast
We need more volunteers for Sunday breakfast! Please consider being a host, sticking around to clean up, or bringing food items.
Hosting is pretty simple, and we have an easy how-to guide to ensure your success. Dropping off food items before Mass is a HUGE help. They can be homemade, baked or store bought! Biscuits, fruit, quiches, casseroles, donuts, pastries or cookies — you name it! Please consider helping us continue this wonderful ministry by signing up below.

Upcoming Lenten Opportunities
Parish-Wide Adoration Event Begins March 20
Make this Lent extra special by committing to one or more hours of Adoration during our parish-wide Adoration event. Sign up for an hour between 6 p.m., Monday, March 20 and 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 22.
Adoration will be in the chapel, and security has been hired as an added safeguard during the night hours. Singles, couples, teenagers and families are all encouraged to participate. We need a minimum of two people to sign up for each hour, but we hope to pack the chapel every hour. Click below to sign up today!

Embraces Will Begin

This March, St. Eugene is offering a revamped, yearlong marriage enrichment program called "Embraces" on the second Saturday of each month immediately following 5 p.m. Mass. The relaunch of this exciting and vital ministry has something for everyone, especially for couples with children needing time for themselves.
Couples will kick off with a family-style gathering and dinner, followed by age-specific programs for all, and FREE evening care for couples until 10 p.m. for that much-needed date night.
Reserve your spot now by RSVP'ing below to ensure we have plenty of seating and materials available. We also need a “head count” on the children who will be our guests for the evening.
Please note this gala benefits our school and church.
Event tickets are $85 per person, $160 per couple or $700 for a table of eight.

St. Teresa's Guild is changing their meetings to the first Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m. The new location is the home of Mary Ann Tomlinson: 2922 NW 160th St. in Edmond. Donations Are Needed
The Altar Society is collecting items for Palomar, an agency that provides services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking and more. We are asking for your donations. The needs are great and we all have extra things in our closets that can be used by others. Items needed are: tote bags, purses, books for the ladies, children’s books, toiletries, and toys in good condition.
A box is located in the rotunda for your contributions. Make this one of your Lenten positive actions and remember these women in your prayers.
