Happy and holy 2nd Sunday in Lent. Yes, as you can see the transition to a new bulletin is taking some time. We are working hard with new vendors in finding what will work best for our St. Lawrence the Martyr community.
The information we will print in our transitional bulletins will be shorter, not as colorful and in a different format, but we will try to pass on to you during this transition the important information and events happening at St. Lawrence the Martyr. Thank you for your patience.
In our little black book this past Friday, March 3, we reflected on how suffering and evil can place doubt in our faith in God’s plan. As Jesus walks with his disciples to the Mount of Olives we know he will enter into prayer with His Father, that his disciples will be challenged to “stay awake” as they “witness” the betrayal of Jesus and many will “run away” in fear. We also know that this is not the end of the story. The mystery of evil and suffering calls us to trust, to return, to be renewed. Many of us, me included, have at times failed to trust in God during moments of stress in our lives, yet God continues to call us in reconciliation to return to him, to experience his mercy and rest in his peace...

En nuestro librito negro del pasado viernes 3 de marzo, reflexionábamos sobre cómo el sufrimiento y la maldad pueden poner en duda nuestra fe en el plan de Dios. Mientras Jesús camina con sus discípulos hacia el Monte de los Olivos, vemos como entra en oración con su Padre, y sabemos que sus discípulos serán desafiados a permanecer despiertos mientras presencian la traición de Jesús; siendo que muchos huirán llenos de miedo. También sabemos que este no es el final de la historia. El misterio del mal y del sufrimiento nos llama a confiar, a volver, a renovarnos. Muchos de nosotros, incluyéndome a mí, a veces hemos fallado en confiar en Dios durante momentos de estrés en nuestras vidas, sin embargo, Dios continúa llamándonos a la reconciliación para regresar a él, para experimentar su misericordia y descansar en su paz...

March 12: Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast
The Knights of Columbus will offer their traditional Pancake Breakfast of 3 pancakes, 2 sausages and eggs after the 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM Masses on Sunday, March 12.
The breakfasts will be served in to-go boxes and can be picked up in front of the Community Center.

Join our training program at the School of Gratitude of the Franciscans of Mary, so that in imitation of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Blessed Virgin Mary we advance in the knowledge of our faith and together seek holiness. We meet every Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. There is a course for adults and a course for children at the same time. The program is in Spanish.
