Impact Stories From the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Members of the St. Teresa Conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul receive an incalculable return on their time investment. In that connection, here is an example of a “thank you note” we recently received:
Thank you SO MUCH for providing assistance to my brother! You and your church are MUCH appreciated! Please pray that God will provide him with some employment soon so that he will be able to take care of his needs. God bless you all!
This heartfelt thank you note referred to $600 in rental assistance to the woman’s brother who was unable to make his monthly payment. After many years working for the same heating and air conditioning company, her brother was suddenly laid off when the company sought to cut their expenses. Without a “financial cushion” of any kind, the gentleman was unable to meet his immediate needs. After receiving assistance from St. Vincent de Paul, he assured our caseworkers that, “When I am back at work, I am going to donate to St. Vincent de Paul.”
This situation is just one example of good people falling unexpectedly on hard times. It is truly our privilege to help them in their time of need.
