Dear Parishioners,
I hope your Lent is going well as we enter into the third week of this holy season. It seems like it’s going by quickly!
I wanted to share a campus update with you. Over the last few months, we had a recurring issue with the sewer line running from the school bathrooms. The line was backing up and causing sewage to overflow into the school courtyard and the parking lot between the CMO and school office. Not pleasant to say the least!
The total cost to fix the sewage line was $29,070. The school and parish split the cost since a significant portion of the repair was connected to the school bathrooms. The parish paid $13,451.25 while the school paid $15,618.75. The school’s and the parish’s financial situation continue to be healthy after paying for this repair.
We have begun to assess other lines on campus that may need similar repairs and/ or replacements. Old water lines are one of the top culprits for expensive repairs on parish campuses like ours, since these older cast iron and clay lines have a lifespan of about 60 years.
I wanted to keep you in the loop about this repair since it was a big one. Thank you for your continued support of the parish with your time, talent, and treasure. If you would like to know more about the details of this repair, please feel free to reach out to me or our business manager, Chris Dameron.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Corey
