Greetings, Family of families! 

Good afternoon!  This Sunday at 2AM is time to move our clocks FORWARD one hour. 

Our Lenten journey continues as we approach the 3rd Sunday of Lent this weekend.  We hope you were able to make it to our Lenten Mission and add some new tools in your "spiritual toolbox" and gather lots of "food for thought".  We thank Fr. Jim Shellenberg for his insights, wisdom and inspiration.  We also thank our lectors, choirs, ushers and sacristans who helped Fr. Jim during his time with us.

Spring Break time is upon us.  We pray that those who are traveling during this time will arrive safely to and from their destination.

YOUTH CHOIR

Youth Choir is inviting new members (kids grades 2-12)  to participate in preparation for music on Easter Sunday morning-11am Mass. Practices are Sundays at 5pm in Pruski hall. MUSIC MINISTRY

Upcoming Music Ministry Elections:  The positions of Chairperson and Treasurer are up for election for the St Jerome Music Ministry. Nominees do not need to be a musician/vocalist or a member of a choir to hold either position. If interested, please contact Nominating Committee Chairperson Larry Keller at (210) 289-3346.

KNIGHTLY NEWS

Knights of Columbus, Council 4315 would like to announce that scholarship applications for children or grandchildren of all Knights in good standing with Council 4315 are available in the parish office or from the East Central ISD counseling office.  The Knights will award three $1,000 scholarships.  Deadline to apply is April 25, 2023.

As their Lenten project, the Knights of Columbus, Council 4315 is once again holding a raffle for the benefit of Padua Place, a retirement home for priests and religious.  Tickets can be purchased at our Fish Fry nights, from the parish office or on March 18th and 19th in the church foyer. Please help support these men who dedicated their lives to serving God and us!  The drawing will be held at the last fish fry in O'Brien Hall on March 24th.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT/VIRTUS ONLINE

All volunteers and employees for St Jerome must be up-to-date with their safe environment requirements.

To volunteer, one must register online or access an existing online account with Virtus to have a criminal background check, code of conduct, and these three trainings:

-Virtus Protecting God’s Children,
-Virtus Sexual Harassment Course, and
-Virtus Vulnerable Adult Course.  

Most of us at St. Jerome completed these trainings in 2019-2020, so the 3-year renewal is up or will be coming up for us.  You will be sent an email (the email you used to sign up initially) notifying you of the training/document renewal.  Please make sure to be on the lookout for an email (check your spam folder) from VIRTUS. 

All trainings and documents are valid for three (3) years from the date of completion.

Bereavement Committee 

This ministry provides a meal after funeral services for family and friends for our parishioners.  The parish provides the main dish and parishioner volunteers bring sides.  If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please leave your name and number in the sign-up sheet in the foyer of the church or contact Lorraine Ibrom, Jeannie Bricker or Carol Hardy.

(Adoration) at St. Jerome is every Wednesday at 8:40AM (after the 8AM Mass) until 7PM in the Chapel.  The 1st of Wednesday of every month is usually a Night of Reflection with Adoration, prayer and reconciliation until 8PM. Entrance to the chapel is on the east side of the church (the brown wooden door).

ARCHBISHOP'S APPEAL FOR MINISTRIES

You should have already received an invitation to participate in this year's "In receiving the Eucharist, we are called to serve,” Archbishop's Appeal for Ministries. 

If you have already received your envelope, we invite you to send in your contribution in the envelope you have been provided.  You may either drop the envelope in the collection basket, deliver it to the office or mail your contribution.  The address on the envelope is to a company, Letter Concepts that is coordinating with the Archdiocese to process all Appeal gifts.   It is safe to send your gift to the address printed on the envelope.
 
If you have not received an invitation to participate, we have extra envelopes available at church or in the church office.
