Nan directed all aspects of the parish music program since 2011. Her duties included:
· Choosing the music for all Masses
· Rehearsing and directing the vocal choir, soloists, musicians and bell choir
· Coaching the Cantors (Nan introduced the practice of OLLS students cantoring at weekend Masses.)
· Playing the organ or piano during Mass
· Creating and printing weekly Worship Aids, wedding and funeral programs
· Meeting with families of the deceased to select music for funeral Mass/service
· Meeting with engaged couples to select and document detailed information for weddings
Nan was born in NYC and raised her family in Saugerties, NY. She graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart HS in Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Music (in music education) from Marywood University and her Master of Music Education from College of St. Rose.
She taught music at the high school level for 25 years, including preparation for music competitions. During 23 of those years she also served as a parish music minister.
She also worked as music coach for Miss America contestants for 5 years.
Nan was married to Charlie Dickman for 46 years until his death in 2006.
She has three children and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parish duties, Nan taught piano and voice privately.
