FEAST DAYS!
We celebrate some big feast days over the next few days.
St Patrick's day is tomorrow, March 17. That day is actually about a real man and not just about wearing green.
Learn more about him here. Our bishop has even given a dispensation tomorrow so you can eat corn beef on a Friday if you'd like, but you should consider making a different sacrifice if you do so.
March 19 is the Solemnity of St. Joseph but since it falls on a Sunday, the Church has moved his day to Monday, March 20. St. Joseph is the patron saint of husbands, fathers, workers, and the universal church. He's a pretty big deal!
St. Joseph most likely died with Jesus and Mary close to him -- the way we all would like to. For that reason, he is also the patron saint of a happy death. So let's pray for everyone who is nearing death. Let's pray for those who are suffering and in agony -- that they may have a peaceful and happy death. Finally, let's pray that when we face death, we may also be close to Jesus and Mary.
Next weekend, March 25 and 26th, we will have Prayer Teams available after all the Masses in the Chapel for anyone desiring prayer. We look forward to seeing you and celebrating the Eucharist together this weekend.
