Second Collection this Weekend:
There will be a second collection at all Masses this weekend for Catholic Relief Services.
ATTENTION: Looking for New Altar Servers!!
We are currently looking for people of ALL ages (children who have already made their First Holy Communion or will be doing so this Spring, pre-teens, teens, and adults) to assist at Mass as altar servers.
Whether you have served before (we warmly welcome you back) or are interested in finding out more (we enthusiastically welcome you now), please contact – or have your parent or guardian contact – Deacon Dave at David.Snyder@dor.org for information about our upcoming training sessions.
Our goal is to have new servers assisting at the altar by Easter!

Bishop Matano grants dispensation for St. Patrick’s Day
Since St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Lenten Friday this year, Bishop Salvatore R. Matano has granted a dispensation from abstinence for March 17.
Fridays during Lent are normally days of abstinence from meat for Catholics ages 14 and older. However, Bishop Matano cited that the Revised Code of Canon Law, No. 87.1, which states, “A diocesan bishop, whenever he judges that it contributes to their spiritual good, is able to dispense the faithful from universal and particular disciplinary laws issued for his territory or his subjects by the supreme authority of the church.”
In a statement, Bishop Matano encouraged the faithful to abstain from meat on another day during the week and to attend Mass on St. Patrick’s Day.
Bishop Matano further noted that the Solemnity of St. Joseph, normally observed on March 19, has been transferred to the following day, March 20, since March 19 falls on the Fourth Sunday of Lent this year. No dispensation for that day is required, he added.
