You are invited to experience God's love and mercy through the Sacrament of Reconciliation tomorrow, Thursday, March 16, beginning at 6:30 pm. Please arrive any time between 6:30 pm and 7 pm. We will have ten visiting priests along with our three priests present to celebrate the Sacrament.

Saint Patrick's Day Commutation
Since Saint Patrick's Day falls on a Friday of Lent this year, Bishop Rhoades is granting a commutation of the obligation of abstinence from meat to another pious work in accord with canon law. The faithful of our diocese may substitute for abstinence from meat one of the following three acts: attendance at Mass on Saint Patrick's Day, the recitation of the holy rosary on Saint Patrick's Day for the intention of world peace, or one-half hour of prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
The commutation is a reminder to those who desire a dispensation from abstinence of the spiritual significance of Saint Patrick's Day, rather than a merely secular observance.
EUCHARISTIC SAINT FOR MARCH: SAINT KATHARINE DREXEL
Katharine Drexel was born into a prominent and wealthy Philadelphia family in 1858. Her parents were great philanthropists with a great affinity for the poor. Growing up Katharine developed a great love for the Eucharist. Her time in prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament helped develop a deep loving relationship with Christ. When Katharine entered religious life, the local paper reported “Miss Drexel Enters a Catholic Convent – Gives up Seven Million.” Saint Katharine founded the Sisters of the Most Blessed Sacrament to serve Black and Indian Missions in the United States. Her life gives witness to the intense bond between Eucharistic devotion and a life of service. Saint Katharine’s feast day is March 3.
