This weekend, we celebrate two co-patrons of the Archdiocese of San Francisco: St. Patrick and St. Joseph

St. Patrick was born in Britain and captured by Raiders when he was 16. He was enslaved in Ireland for six years, working as a shepherd. God helped him escape, and when he had made it back to Britain, St. Patrick became a priest and eventually a bishop and asked to return to Ireland to preach the Gospel and convert the Irish people. The Solemnity of St. Joseph is usually celebrated on March 19; however, because it falls on the Fourth Sunday of Lent, it has been moved to Monday, March 20. St. Joseph was the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. He is the Protector of the Universal Church and families. He is also the patron saint of fathers, workers, and carpenters.
