Why Be Kind?
From the time we are born, we are taught to be kind. Play nice with others, share, don't call people names, hold the door for the person behind you, etc... So why do I still hear so much from high school students about cliques, loneliness, anger, and hate at school?
It turns out we forget, ignore, or choose not to act with kindness especially when others have been unkind to us. We spread those feelings of loneliness and anger when we are made to feel that way. Seems obvious, right?
As frustrating and hurtful as that is, the good news is that kindness can spread just as easily and science backs that up. In this 2 minute clip below, we hear what it is that our body does to encourage us to be kind to others.
