Week Five: March 26 - April 2, 2023
Holy Spirit Sick and Homebound
The faithful who are ill are deprived of their rightful and accustomed place in the Eucharistic community. Holy Spirit Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EM's) who serve in ministry to the sick and homebound visit parishioners to pray with them and give them the opportunity to receive the Body of Christ. In bringing communion to the sick and homebound, our EM's represent Christ and manifest faith and charity on behalf of the whole community toward those who cannot be present at Mass. For the sick, the reception of communion is not only a privilege, but also a sign of support and concern shown by the Christian community for its members who are ill.
PROJECT: Caring for our homebound. This week, we are collecting items to create care packages that will be delivered by our EM's on their visits to the homebound of our parish. Please donate the following items: throw blankets, men's and women's socks, and body lotion. Donations are due by April 2nd. Please drop items at the Almsgiving table in the narthex.
