Confessions
As part of our preparation for Easter, St. Francis is offering a Parish Reconciliation Service this Tuesday, March 28 at 6 pm. Many priests from around this area will come to hear confessions, don't miss this opportunity.

Fasting: The law of fasting binds those who have attained their majority (age 18 until 59 years of age). This law allows only 1 (one) full meal a day, and does not prohibit taking some food in the morning and evening. Fasting is obligatory on Good Friday.
Abstinence: The law (Cannon 1252) of abstinence binds those who have completed 14 years of age. Abstinence prohibits Catholics from consuming meat, and should be observed on Fridays of Lent and Good Friday.
Parents should ensure that even those, who by reason of their age are not bound by the law of fasting and abstinence, are taught the true meaning of penance (sacrifices, refraining from a negative attitude, offering prayers for others, offering your confession and increasing almsgiving, etc.)
WE NEED EGGS! For us to have plenty of eggs for our children to hunt on Easter Sunday, we need hundreds of plastic eggs filled with wrapped soft candy and tiny trinket! Please drop off filled eggs (no nuts, peanut butter, or hard candy, please) in the Family Life Center collection boxes by Palm Sunday, April 2!

KC 9543 is leading a parish-wide drive to help Birthright of Jackson during the Lenten season. At all six Lenten meals, parishioners can drop off packages of diapers, baby socks, new baby clothes, and gently-used baby clothes. Please, no formula or pacifiers. A St. Francis tradition since 1986 and our parish’s largest fundraiser, Cajun Fest returns on Sunday, May 21. Join us after 10:30 am mass for delicacies like Crawfish Etouffee, jambalaya, pulled pork sandwiches, shrimp po-boys and homemade desserts. You’ll also enjoy live music by Waylon Thibodeaux, kid games, prizes, and the chance to fellowship with friends, family, and parishioners. The process for the two collection baskets during the offertory at Mass: There will be one basket, per section, per collections handed to the first person in each section. Please help us by moving it smoothly to the rear of the section where a Hospitality Minister will collect it. For second collection Masses, a second basket will follow shortly after the first makes the first turn into following pews. We thank you for your assistance in making this change.

Catholic Charities, Inc., will host the 2023 Bishop’s Ball at the Country Club of Jackson and celebrate 60 years of service, on April 21, 2023 at 6pm.
