Faith Formation at St. John Neumann Parish
Hi! If you are receiving this email it's because you signed up for our new communication tool, Flocknote, OR because you signed up as being interested in getting involved with faith formation at the meeting we had with the Diocesan Director of Lifelong Faith Formation, Mary Beth Coates, several weeks ago.
Good news... we are finally up and running! I have accepted the part-time position as Director of Faith Formation at SJN. For a little more information about myself and my background, check out the bulletin from last week (it should also be in this weekend's bulletin). I am very excited to be a part of renewing our religious education program. But, as a first step, I want to hear from YOU!
A lot of decisions will need to be made over the next month so that we can be ready to re-open our doors in September. I hope we can all come together to design the best possible formation program for our parish, based on the following required components:
- at-home, family-centered learning
- connection to the larger parish/Sunday community
- incorporation of new learning strategies, eg. online, independent, small-group
- attention to service that is worthwhile, including age-appropriate theological reflection.
Attached to this email you will find lots of information about the new curriculum guidelines and about several program models we can discuss at our first advisory council meeting.
If you are interested in being part of this faith journey:- Sign up to be added to our Formation Advisory Board email list.
- RSVP to the meeting on July 12th.
- Review the attached material (green buttons).
But most of all, pray for families of SJN Parish!!
Peace In Christ,
Melissa Weisenburg
