The Office of Vocations invites young men to an opportunity to answer the question:
Quo Vadis: Where are you going?
Join the Office of Vocations for a retreat with other young men desiring to discern God’s will for their lives. The retreat will involve daily Mass, adoration, celebration of the Divine Office, reflections provided by seminarians of the Diocese of Richmond, and training on how to preach the Gospel.
Who: Rising 10th grade – 12th grade
When: Thursday, June 29 – Sunday, July 2
Location: Roslyn Retreat Center, 8727 River Road, Richmond, VA 23229
Cost: $100 per youth, scholarships available

The Jefferson Choral Society invites all to an Easter Concert,
"Jesus, Son of our Father"
on Sunday, April 30th at 4pm at the Academy.
The concert tells the story of Jesus' life based upon the Gospel of John.

Grave Matters
With springtime arriving, the St Joseph of Arimathea Cemetery Ministry is busy cleaning and sprucing up sections of the cemetery grounds.
God Bless all of the St Joseph Ministry volunteers who continue to assist with the cemetery ministry.
If you have a loved one buried in our cemetery who was a veteran, please let us know. The Knights of Columbus would like to place an American flag on their grave(s) on Memorial Day. kbowden@holycrosslynchburg.org
Massie Saunders is currently surveying the bronze section of our cemetery.
This will improve our ability to manage the newest cemetery site and spaces.
The 2nd Annual “Fairways to Heaven” Golf Tournament is almost here!
Come participate on Friday afternoon, May 12th with fellow parishioners in a fun outing at London Downs Golf Course. It’s time to gather your foursome and get your entry form in to the parish!
Forms are in the Commons or may be accessed here. Cost is $50 per person which includes all fees plus dinner.

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY’S SPRING PROGRAM
"What to know before you go….to Eternal Life”
Preparation is key and knowing in advance what to expect when a loved one passes away can ease the planning process.
Join fellow parishioners on Saturday May 13, 2:00 – 3:00pm at Holy Cross Church for our spring educational program. Jim Naples, Marge Chamberlin and Patrick Hubble will present important information regarding use of the Holy Cross Cemetery, planning a funeral mass and what to know when choosing a funeral home.
Refreshments will be provided.

St Paschal's Food Pantry Ministry
Thank you again to all who contributed to the Easter food bags with food and/ or volunteer time sorting and packing.
The food pantry is low on most items
put in weekly bags and continues to depend on your generosity. Thank you!

The Knights of Columbus
will be distributing carnations to parishioners after Masses the weekend of May 13/14 in honor of all Mothers for Mother's Day.
Donations are appreciated and money will go to Miriam's House, an organization that "works to end homelessness by connecting indivdiuals and families with stable, affordable housing and providing the skills and supports that lead to self-sufficiency."
Bring in your items on the weekends of April 29/30, May 6/7 and May 13/14
There will be a baby pack and play for your donations in the Commons.
The Ladies of Charity are sponsoring a Baby Shower to benefit the Blue Ridge Preganacy Center.

Are you interested in being on a mentor team to journey alongside families during their pregnancy? To help create a bridge from the Blue Ridge Pregnacy Center (BRPC) to a Christian community? To build relationships with patients beynd their time at the BRPC? To share the love of Christ in action and in word??
The committment is 6 weeks, once a week to attend a pregancy & Life Skills Class (PLS) to end on week six with a baby shower for the women. Holy Coss would like to participate starting in September and we need your help! Please let Kaky Bowden know if you are interested at kbowden@holycrosslynchburg.org. We will meet to discuss and plan once volunteers are secured.

Holy Cross to host a Red Cross Blood Drive!
When: Thursday, June 1st from 1pm - 6pm
Where: At Holy Cross in the Commons
Our blood drive is important to patients in need. From a blood supply standpoint: The Red Cross - needs to collect more than 13,000 blood donations and more than 2,500 platelet donations each day. The blood collected by the Red Cross helps millions of patients in over -2,500 hospitals and other facilities across the country. 84 percent of blood donations are given at blood drives - hosted by generous sponsoring organizations like ours.
Holy Cross is proud to hold this blood drive in partnership with the Red Cross, giving us all an opportunity to make a difference. Our blood is needed!!

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
