Hi Builders,
I haven't updated in a long time for a variety of reasons, but including the fact that we don't have a particular build we are working towards. The house in Princeton is unavailable to volunteers due to trades work (plumbers, electricians, etc.) and inspection but is expected to be open within a few more weeks. There is a build in McKinney which we might participate in, but it is in the permitting stage. This will be a house for a veteran, on Hamilton Street. Habitat always has need of volunteers at the McKinney or Plano ReStore.
I met with Matt Decker in March about the parish's participation in Habitat, and he suggested that we expand the outreach to the parish for increased participation. So, I'm asking if any of you would be interested in either 1) brainstorming ideas to use the communication channels available at St. Gabriel to promote Habitat to our fellow parishioners and/or 2) help to motivate all of us to participate more. I know St. Elizabeth Ann Seton has a very active group which meets monthly to facilitate fellowship and help Habitat as well. Perhaps we could work on a schedule to help a ReStore together. If you've read this far in the email, you understand why I need help in this space! :) Please reach out to me by replying, email directly to
aggie86.pl@gmail.com, or phone (214-585-3509).
Thanks and God Bless,
Pat
