Our barbecue last weekend was one of the best attended events with over 24 young adults. Building off of the momentum and great turn out we had for the dinner and Carpooling to Cafe Catholic we are going to be running two last minute events this weekend. We hope you can join us!

YAStM Volunteering With Catholic Charities Food Fair

We are going to do a last minute service event. Join us to volunteer with Catholic Charities! This Saturday 7/14 at 8 am.

We will be working their food pantry, assembling and distributing food packages for families in need. Volunteers will be outdoors the majority of the time—shorts, T-shirts, tennis shoes and sunblock are recommended.
The front door to the building is locked while the families line up and wait. Volunteers can meet by the front door and will be let in by one of the Catholic Charities workers.

Tons of Fun at Top Golf - Round 2

We have a last minute social event on Saturday, July 14th at 2pm. Join young adults for a day on the range at Top Golf in Spring for fun food and drinks. A great chance to show off your golf skills or surprise the pros with your beginner's luck.
This is the second year we are running a trip here. It was a big hit last year!
Top Golf is an interactive driving range where you can compete against your friends by hitting golf balls into several scattered targets to score points. No experience or clubs required.All are welcome!! Please tell your friends!

Car Pooling to Café Catholica
We are working to arrange carpooling. If you have not already done so. Please email us youngadults@stmartha.com with your name and phone number if you are interested in car pooling. If anyone would like to volunteer to be a driver please let us know. We had 15 people attend Cafe Catholica last week.
Attention Young Adults (18 - 30s), come join 700 fellow young Catholics for faith, dinner and great talks this summer!
Café Catholica 2018 “The Voice of Christ: Rooted in Love” is an annual summer series for young adults (20's-30's) sponsored by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. We present some of the most dynamic Catholic speakers from around the country and feature Catholic ministries and businesses of interest to young adults. A Free event, donations are accepted. Come all or part of the evening.
600-800 young adults attend each night (about 2,500 total each summer). This year we will meet over 4 Mondays evenings starting July 9, 2018 for Confessions, Mass, Dinner and a Talk by a dynamic Catholic speaker. Table Sponsors showcase organizations and ministries and businesses that are of interest to young adults.
This is not a boring "church talk" - this is hundreds of smart, passionate young adults searching for God. Join us. Grow in Faith. Get Fed. Meet Fellow Young Adult Catholics. You'll be glad you did.
Each night, we follow the same schedule:
- 5:15pm - Confessions & guided prayer
- 6:15pm - MASS
- 7:15pm - DINNER, socializing, table exhibits
- 8:15pm - TALK by Featured Speaker (ends with Q&A time)

***BIBLE STUDY PAUSED DURING CAFÉ CATHOLICA– We will be pausing the Monday evening bible studies for the weeks of Café Catholica in order to promote attendance at that event. Next bible study will be August 6th at 7PM in St. Martha’s Main Church. Join us as we continue studying the Book of Genesis. We are an informal group and encourage all to join. No prior bible study experience is necessary! We will be meeting in the parlor of the main church (first door in the left side hallway).
Other events are in the works. We are planning to host a How-to-Adult series to teach: financial basics, apartment & house hunting, cooking skills, & resume building. Send us your ideas!!

Volunteer Opportunity with the Church –
The director of social services is looking for volunteers on the weekends of July 14/15 and July 21/22 before and after each mass. This is for the HAAM Food Drive Weekend.
On the weekend of July 14/15, you'll be required to stick and label paper bags and later distribute them to the congregation and on the weekend of July 21/22, you'll be required to sort and stock all the food that we have received for the HAAM Food Drive Weekend.
If you are able to volunteer before and after the mass you frequent, please let Clara know so that she can consolidate a table and send it to the director
