If you have a loved one buried in our cemetery who was a veteran, please let us know. The Knights of Columbus would like to place an American flag on their grave(s) on Memorial Day.

We all know the story of Pentecost found in Acts, chapter two. But we often forget the important event that took place during the 9 days before Pentecost... In Acts, chapter one, we learn that Jesus told his followers not to leave Jerusalem: “Wait for the fulfillment of my Father’s promise.” Jesus ascended to heaven and the disciples travelled back to Jerusalem. They returned to the upper room where they had been staying. “Together they devoted themselves to constant prayer.” They prayed for 9 days. On the 10th day, Pentecost happened, and the Holy Spirit showed up! These 9 days became the very first novena. A Novena to the Holy Spirit!

Holy Cross to host a Red Cross Blood Drive!
When: Thursday, June 1st from 1pm - 6pm
Where: At Holy Cross in the Commons
Our blood drive is important to patients in need. From a blood supply standpoint: The Red Cross - needs to collect more than 13,000 blood donations and more than 2,500 platelet donations each day. The blood collected by the Red Cross helps millions of patients in over -2,500 hospitals and other facilities across the country. 84 percent of blood donations are given at blood drives - hosted by generous sponsoring organizations like ours.
Holy Cross is proud to hold this blood drive in partnership with the Red Cross, giving us all an opportunity to make a difference. Our blood is needed!!

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
