Our next Parish Newcomer Welcoming Session will take place on Sunday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m. in the Bishop Sullivan Room.

During this one-hour gathering, you will be able to meet other parishioners, our Pastor and staff, receive an introduction to Saint Mary's Parish, and complete the registration documents. Refreshments and childcare will be provided. 

There is a WORK CAMP MEETING for all teen participants and adult volunteers on Sunday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m. in the Lower Commons.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be offered following the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Friday, May 26. All are welcome.

Vacation Bible School registration is now open Registration will remain open until June 30th or until we have reached capacity.

Recently one of our parishioners committed to donating $10,000 per year to establish the Ed and Dorothy Dynda Scholarship Fund for our school. The scholarship in honor of her parents is a needs-based scholarship and can help provide financial aid for multiple students. While Ed and Dorothy themselves did not have college degrees, they valued education, especially Catholic education. They sacrificed much and sent both of their daughters to Catholic schools each of them earning college degrees. We want to thank these parishioners for the establishment of the scholarship and their commitment to Catholic education here at Saint Mary’s. To learn more about the available scholarships and the admissions process contact Anne Leigh Bisese (Admissions) or Brandon Hess (Principal) at Saint Mary’s Catholic School at 740-1048.

In addition, Saint Mary’s School also has the Future Full of Hope Matching Scholarship Fund. While the primary Future Full of Hope Scholarship provides financial aid to new Catholic students, the matching portion of the program provides financial aid to any Catholic students attending Saint Mary’s School. Donors interested in providing gifts to this matching fund can contact Jenn Janus at 740-1048 or Gregg Kamper at 740-4044.

The Summer months provide a time for us to be refreshed and renewed. This Summer, Saint Mary’s offers opportunities for you to be RENEWED IN SPIRIT! Our parish deacons will present a series of adult formation opportunities. Each ‘course’ will meet for 2 or 3 weeks, with a focus on topics which will draw us closer to Christ and to one another.

Over the past 100+ years, nine Popes have served the Church as the successor to Christ in the Seat of St. Peter.  Each one added to the life of the Church.  Join us for this study that will give a brief history of their lives, contributions to the Church, and insight on how each Pope builds on the work of his predecessors and put their own unique stamp on the Church.  We will also see how world events were shaped by their pontificates and how those same events changed the focus of their reign.   This series will be offered on Wednesday mornings, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., from May 31st to June 21st to look at the first half of these Popes.  

The minor prophets aren’t called that because they have minor things to say, but due to their size compared to Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel.  From July 10-31 on Monday mornings, we will have an overview of these books of the Bible.  Each one is short and can be read in its entirety.  If you would like to know more about these books, this will be a good introduction.  

St. Edward the Confessor in Richmond is excited to kick off the year of the Eucharistic Revival on Friday, June 9, with a special community event called Revive!  This event begins at 5 p.m. and will include a cookout, Eucharistic adoration with national speaker Chika Anyanwu and worship leader Dan Harms, and an ice cream social.  All are welcome and there is no charge!  Please RSVP at https://bit.ly/3O9S52U.  For more information, contact Joan – Joan.Nelson@StEdwardCh.org

Richmond, VA is hosting its 8th Catholic Heart Work Camp (CHWC) at Benedictine College Preparatory the week of June 16th (Friday) - June 23rd (Friday), 2023.

Our event over the last 7 years has been a huge success because of our awesome campers, dedicated CHWC staff, and our beloved volunteers! This year we are looking to host even more teens and complete over 35 community projects during this amazing week! If you haven't had the opportunity to be a part of CHWC before, we invite you to participate in any way your schedule permits.

There are opportunities to volunteer for a few hours, a day or throughout the week.
Please review the opportunities below and sign-up today.

• If you need to adjust your commitment, just do so.
• Adults and teens can volunteer for most jobs
• In some cases, as appropriate, it can be a family volunteer event.
