Hi, I’m Graham Fassero! I’m a seminarian of the Diocese of Richmond, and I’ve been assigned to Holy Cross for the summer! I’ve been studying at Saint John Paul II Seminary in Washington, D.C. for the last four years.
In August, I’ll be headed to Rome for the second half of my studies.
I grew up in Lynchburg (and Nelson County), but I wasn’t Catholic yet, so I’m looking forward to meeting many new people this summer at Holy Cross. My home parish is Saint Augustine, Richmond, where I came into the church in 2016.
Before entering seminary, I worked in public safety. I like to hike, read, and play piano and guitar. And I’m the oldest of eleven siblings, most of whom still live in Lynchburg.

NEW PARISH DIRECTORY IN THE WORKS!
Photographers from The Portrait Café will be at Holy Cross on Thursday, July 20 through Tuesday, July 25 to photograph our parishioners for the new directory. Be prepared to schedule your appointment during the month of June. Appointments during the week-days are from 1pm-8pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 12:30pm to 6pm.

Fairways to Heaven Golf Tournament
We had great weather for the second annual Fairways to Heaven golf event on Friday, May 12 at London Downs golf course. Thirteen foursomes enjoyed a fun round of golf and fellowship. Prizes were awarded while we enjoyed a fried chicken dinner in the clubhouse.
With some funds left over and proceeds from the 50-50 raffle, we are able to donate $700 to Interfaith Outreach Association. Many thanks to our main sponsor Tharp Funeral Home, as well as Apple Ford and to all participants. Plans are in the works for the third Fairways to Heaven in May 2024!

Social Ministries
The Jesse Tree Ministry has two co-chair spots open. Is God calling you to lead this crucial HC ministry?
Believe it or not, it is time to start planning for the Jesse Tree Ministry gift drive and distribution in November and December. Holy Cross and others need you!
Past chairpersons have done a wonderful job of documenting the procedures and schedule to follow, so don't be intimidated by the scope of the ministry. Holy Cross to host a Red Cross Blood Drive!
When: Thursday, June 1st from 1pm - 6pm
Where: At Holy Cross in the Commons
Our blood drive is important to patients in need. From a blood supply standpoint: The Red Cross - needs to collect more than 13,000 blood donations and more than 2,500 platelet donations each day. The blood collected by the Red Cross helps millions of patients in over -2,500 hospitals and other facilities across the country. 84 percent of blood donations are given at blood drives - hosted by generous sponsoring organizations like ours.
Holy Cross is proud to hold this blood drive in partnership with the Red Cross, giving us all an opportunity to make a difference. Our blood is needed!!

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
