Mattie, a young teen of the Archdiocese of Washington, never reached his 14th birthday, yet his spiritual writings and life of faith endures. Join the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Guild in celebrating Mattie’s life and how to say YES to God at his Memorial Mass on Thursday, June 22 at 6:30 pm at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (9705 Summit Avenue, Kensington, MD 20895). Guild materials and Guild Directors will be on hand after Mass to share Mattie's life and the Guild's activities.

Mattie believed that his purpose was to be a ‘messenger’ shaping with words what God placed in his heart for the good of our world. Mattie’s brief life had many physical and financial challenges, yet he accomplished a great deal, writing six bestselling books of poetry and one bestselling book on peacemaking. Quo Vadis Camp, for high school age young men, will be held at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary from Sunday, July 23, to Wednesday, July 26, 2023. For four days, high school age young men who desire to grow in holiness will have an opportunity for Mass, prayer, and Eucharistic adoration, as well as time for recreation, sports, and fraternity.
