Morning Mass Schedule Change. Beginning Thursday, June 1 through Friday, June 30, there will be a Communion Service, Monday - Friday, at 7:30 am and the regular Mass at 8:30 am. Fr. Jacobs will be traveling back home to the Philippines to visit his family!
Festival Follow-up! It was a hit! We would like to thank a number of groups/people that made this event a success. Our Loving Father for the perfect weather; the Knights of Columbus for grilling the food; the Silver Foxes for hosting bingo; for David Souza, the awesome DJ; our lovely face painters; and an anonymous donor for the free ice cream! A special thanks to our staff, volunteers, and all the parishioners who helped and attended this fun evening.
Diocesan Appeal. Thanks to all those that have sent in their pledges and contributions. We hope all parishioners can show their support for our Diocese at some level. Make your online donation here.
Illinois Attorney General's Report. Bishop David Malloy and the Diocese of Rockford have issued a statement to the public regarding the findings in this report. Read the entire statement here. We pray for all the victims affected by clergy sexual abuse. Our parish and the diocese make every effort to protect all vulnerable people from sexual abuse by anyone working to serve the church.

Wednesday | Reflect: Think back on all that you’ve accomplished this month with the Lord Jesus right beside you. Plan to repeat mindful habits tomorrow and the next day, and so on.

Encounter Christ
Corpus Christi Procession Sunday, June 11. All are invited to celebrate with us the Solemnity of Corpus Christi -The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Please join us for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 11 am followed by a procession with the Blessed Sacrament around the St. John Neumann campus. After the procession, we invite you to stay for a light lunch (deli sandwich and chips) and ice cream treats. Please click here if you will be joining us for lunch. Come and join us to celebrate this time-honored tradition of our Catholic faith and show St. Charles the Joy of the Eucharist that St. John Neumann parish has to share.
Mental Health First Aid. Saturday, August 26, 9 am - 3:30 pm. Our parish is hosting a first aid training on mental health distress and illness. Participants will receive the digital course manual and processing guide and a hard copy processing guide. Lunch will also be served. The training is limited to 30 participants, who are expected to complete two hours of self-paced homework prior to the event itself.
Grow in Christ
Saturday Pilgrimage: Mark your calendar for this group visit to a Catholic shrine, a trip within two hours of SJN.

Details: 30 spots are available; adolescents are welcome when accompanied by a parent/ adult guardian. Participants will gather for departure at 9:15 am. After a few hours at the Shrine, all will return to SJN by 4:00 pm. $50 per person includes transportation, a guided tour, & a brown-bag lunch (sandwich, chips, fruit, & cookie). The Art of Accompaniment. Thursday, June 29, 6:30 pm - 8 pm. St. John Neumann Parish and Catholic Charities invite you to an evening delving into accompaniment and mental health, in the Hoffman Center. Please join us for an evening of prayer, education, and testimony on the faith-based response to mental health challenges. Refreshments and snacks will be served. No fee to attend but registration is requested here.
Be Sent by Christ
Pray the Rosary Every Saturday in May. In our Catholic faith, the whole month is dedicated to honoring Our Blessed Mother. A wonderful way to strengthen our relationship with her is by reciting the Blessed Rosary. This May, join us every Saturday after 8:30 am Mass to pray the Rosary. Every Saturday will be a different intention. We will have vases available to receive flowers from faithful parishioners that would like to show their love to Our Lady. Let’s ask Our Mother for her prayers and intercession this May!
Street Outreach Service Project. With the warmer weather, more and more of our brothers and sisters are out on the streets asking for help. Our Religious Education families, as a service project, assembled around 100 bags with food, water and essential items, for the homeless. These bags are at our parish office for anyone who would like to take one or two and carry them in their car with the purpose of outreaching to the next person they see in need on the streets. Let’s bring hope and joy to our brothers and sisters in need through this act of mercy. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” Matthew 25:35-40
Let’s solve hunger together… join us on Thursday, June 8th! This summer join other St. John Neumann families for a fun evening of packing and sorting food at Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva, located at 273 Dearborn Court. We have booked 20 spots for our community. The session will run from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Invite your family, parish group, friends, or co-workers, and let’s serve our neighbors in need. We ask that this board be used respectfully and that no full names are used in the prayer requests in order to protect an individual’s privacy.
