Our Outreach team saw a need and an opportunity, so they did what they always do—solved a problem and helped others with creativity and compassion. After Farmer John harvests fresh produce, volunteers arrive every Friday in the early morning hours to box up and deliver the vegetables to the Knights of Columbus. Here kitchen space is provided to support the project. Groups of volunteers arrive to clean, sort, package, and distribute the bags of produce to families.
The produce changes each week based on the growing season, and the families enjoy trying new foods and sharing recipes with one another. This is a small but very important ministry. We are all blessed to be part of a generous and powerful parish community of families who come together to serve one another through love.
