LAST CALL
With September around the corner, it is time to inform the directors of the
Yonkers Sharing Community whether Immaculate Conception Church will be able to continue as one of the religious organizations committed to feeding the very hungry and homeless of Yonkers. Take a look at the video above, and you will begin to appreciate the important and rewarding work the Sharing Community does. The soup kitchen has never missed a day of feeding the hungry. We cannot abandon them without fair notice.
On the bright side, several parishioners with very big hearts have contacted us to find out what is involved in running our piece of it. However, life in Irvington is such that spare time is at a premium - and this charity requires several hours of work a month. If this Corporal Work of Mercy tugs at your heart, please pray and consider the importance of this commitment. It is not something that a coordinator can just "try out". It is feeding the hungry.
