Before COVID, our church orchestra would play for Easter and Christmas programs, and we would like to have musicians play for those events again. If you can play an instrument, please let Pastor Mike Leno know. He is going to be directing our new church orchestra.
We are sad to announce the passing of Dr. Hans Diel on Wednesday, August 2. He was the clinical professor of Preventive Medicine at Loma Linda University, School of Medicine. He was also the presenter of the You-Turn Health Seminars that we had at the beginning of the year. Please keep his wife Lily and their family in your prayers.
Hello, Church Family! My name is Khloey Montalvo. I'm an incoming senior at Redlands Adventist Academy, and I'm a Master Guide at Azure Hills church. This summer, I wanted to not only earn money to help pay for my tuition, but I also wanted to grow a more personal relationship with Christ. So, I decided to join the Youth Rush Scholarship Program. The group picture you see above is of the 2023 Riverside and Orange County team!
Throughout the summer, we go door to door with Adventist literature, leaving the books on a donation basis, and learn to make connections with the people we encounter. While participating in this program, I have gotten to experience God working through me. Youth Rush is a great choice for those who want to earn scholarship money while longing to have a stronger connection with God.
July 15-22, 2023, was the 50th anniversary of the Alberta Conference camp meeting, held at the conference’s campground, Foothills Camp, in Bowden, Alberta, Canada, about one hour north of Calgary. The theme, “But by my Spirit, saith the Lord”, was the same theme for the original camp meeting. Elder Ernie Medina, Jr. was one of several seminar speakers, speaking twice a day, each day of the week. His topics included the Blue Zone and You, Exercise is Medicine, Mind-Body Health, Immune System, and Beating the Blues (depression) with Lifestyle Medicine.
Besides speaking on these health topics, Ernie was able to promote health in a practical and active way: introducing pickleball to the attendees! Thanks to equipment loaned by Burman University, he was able to lead out in introductory pickleball lessons almost every day between his meetings. Many camp meeting attendees, and even some speakers, came down to the basketball court where the pickleball net was set up and learned to play pickleball for the first time. At the end of the camp meeting, many said they were eager to continue playing pickleball once they got back home.
Overall, this was Ernie’s first week-long camp meeting he attended since before the pandemic, and while it was a privilege to share on health and pickleball, he reports that the various main speakers during the week and on both Sabbaths were truly inspirational. You’re invited to go to the website (Click
