Candace Sperati, our Wedding Coordinator
I currently am a part-time employee in the Parish office as Marriage Coordinator and sometimes I will answer the phone or greet you in the front office.
I am passionate about my faith, so much that I am currently studying for my Masters of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University in New Orleans. I am currently a Divisional Leader for the Holy Family Perpetual Adoration Chapel; Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion; Coordinate the Women of Grace Foundational Study for the Full of Grace Women’s Ministry; Catechist for 4 year olds in our Children’s Faith Formation; on the Pastoral Council, member of the Altar Guild, and a carpool Rosary Prayer Warrior. I love my faith-study groups too, where I am able to get my faith fed: Thursday Theologians and Spiritual Book Club.
I am a convert. I joined the Catholic Church with my husband, John, in 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes. I was baptized in the Presbyterian Church and married in the Moravian Church, both in Charlotte, NC, my home for 30 years. I graduated from St Patrick’s Catholic School and Charlotte Catholic High School which paved the way for my conversion to Catholicism.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clothing Textiles and Merchandising from Western Carolina University and worked in the Apparel Industry for 7 years and then the Body Care Industry for another 10 years mostly as product development, event and store planning, project manager and change manager.
My husband and I have lived all over the state and moved 8 times in the last 19 years. We have finally settled in as permanent residence (7 years in our current house!) in Raleigh, NC with our daughter, Kieran, and in our community at Our Lady of Lourdes.
I’m looking forward to where God leads me in the future and who He places in my path. May I continue to stay close to Him so I can be still enough to listen.
