A Place at the Table: (below) Parishioners volunteered their time at this unique restaurant. The helped serve food, bus tables, do dishes, cut up fruit, and helped with plating. A Place at the Table provides community and healthy food for all regardless of means. Anyone can come in for a meal and if they cannot pay the suggested price for their meal, they can volunteer to help out. You can also go in and pay it forward for someone else to enjoy a meal!
Catholic Parish Outreach: Catholic Parish Outreach provides emergency food assistance and children’s clothes and baby items to people who need it. OLL parishioners met at the Catholic Parish Outreach warehouse to help wherever they were needed. We helped bag rice, fill bags of food for people to take, and trim hundreds of heads of lettuce! They’re contributions will help this organization feed some of the 8,700 people that receive assistance from Catholic Parish Outreach every month!
Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina: With Hurricane Florence approaching the coast of North Carolina, a large group of OLL parishioners came together to make emergency kits that would be going out to families that were impacted. These kits included, water, veggies, fruits, grains, and proteins. One group was sorting the goods by type of food, and the other group was placing these into the kits. These kids and adults were working hard and filled tons of boxes to be sent all across North Carolina." by Tristan and Jessica Hogue
