The Mass of Remembrance is a special candle lit liturgy to celebrate the lives of our loved ones' who have gone before us to live in the light of the Lord. We invite your family and friends to join us for this Mass to cherish those we love and to honor their lives by reading each of their names and ringing a bell.
Prayer shawls will be offered for healing and comfort to anyone who is present. A light lunch will be provided following Mass. All are welcome.
Our Altar Server Ministry
(for new and experienced servers)
will meet Sunday, November 12 from 9am-10am. You will be a little late to class that day but this is very important and needed!
Come for bagels, fruit and a review of your responsibilities during Mass.

OPEN POSITION: Facilities Coordinator
Holy Cross Facilities Coordinator shall be responsible to keep the buildings and facilities, including all facilities at 710 Clay Street, the Rectory, the Cemetery, and the rental house on Bedford Ave, in good working order.
This is a Regular Part-Time Position, 25 hours per week.

Eucharistic Reformation: How the Reformers Viewed the Eucharist, and Why It Matters Today
Sunday, October 29th at 9:30am in the Commons
The Reformers differed widely—from the Church and from each other—in their views of the Eucharist. In this talk, Jeff Pratuch will present a brief look at the history of the Eucharist in the Reformation, how these views developed, and the implications today for interdenominational relationships.
Time for Q&A will follow, so be sure to bring your questions!

“Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, para. 2223). But this is not an easy task, and many of us have not been trained for it.
If you’d like to know more about your faith, how to pass it on, and how to answer those difficult questions your kids (of all ages) come up with, come to the Commons.
We will meet the first and third Sundays of the month for
“Coffee and Catechesis.” Next Session is November 5th at 9:30am.
Grab a cup of coffee and some snacks and get some help!

St Mother Teresa Pastoral Care
Our charism is helping those in need...the poor, the sick, the elderly; anyone who needs just about anything.
We model our ministry service after the life of St Mother Teresa of Calcutta. We help parishioners who need meals, rides to run errands, appointments and Mass, by providing well and sick visits, bringing the Eucharist to them, providing food bags for the holidays, offering medical equipment, nursing and prayer support, and by assisting families in times of grief, family deaths and funeral planning.
Please come visit us after Mass to learn more or to become involved. It is a wonderful ministry that benefits our community with our parish walls and outside of them.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
