Halloween Party this Sunday!
This Sunday is our Halloween Party! Before we start the party, though, with All Saints' and All Souls' Days coming up, we thought that this would be the PERFECT time to talk about the Work of Mercy of "Burying the Dead." So we're starting the night with a quick service project! Below you'll find all the details about the project and party!
Pre-party Service Project:
For any students and parents who are able to join us, at 5:30 PM, we will be doing a quick clean up of Old Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Eastman (by the Country Club). We'll provide gloves and trash bags, but if you have some, we invite you to bring small gardening tools. (The area where the priests are buried is a little overgrown.) We'll spend 30ish minutes picking up trash and sprucing up the cemetery and then we'll head over to the parish center. If you plan on bringing your child to the cemetery clean-up, please plan on staying with us and then transporting your child to the parish center for the Halloween Party. Thank you!
Halloween Party Details:
If you are unable to join us for the service project, you can plan on dropping your child off to the parish center at 6:00 like any other Sunday. At the start of the night, we'll briefly explore the Catholic origins of Halloween, All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day, and we'll explore the Work of Mercy to "Bury the Dead." For the rest of the night, we'll have our party! There will be a laser tag room, glow-in-the-dark 9-Square-in-the-Air, glow-in-the-dark basketball, lots of snacks, episodes of the original Scooby-Doo show, crafts, and themed board games (Clue, Ticket to Ride: Ghost Ride, etc.). We'll also have our annual costume contest! Prizes will be awarded for the Best Group Costume, Cutest Costume, Most Creative Costume, Scariest Costume, Best Handmade Costume, and Funniest Costume.
Hope to see you all on Sunday!
