Hello kindergarten families,
I hope this last week of summer has been a great one for everyone!
We are learning the following in our subject areas this last week!:
Reading- This week we took a deeper look at the letters G,L,F, B, and Qu. The kindergarteners are great about finding words that begin with the letter that we are working on for the day! If you ever get a chance to stop by the classroom check out our letter of the day posters that they have come up with! This week we officially got past the halfway point of the alphabet!
Math- This week we worked on different ways to make the number 5 and we started working on the number 0.
Science-This week we learned about the process of growing an apple tree. We also learned about different ways we learn and one of those ways being using our five senses. We used our 4 of our 5 senses to go outside and see what we could learn about leaves! They made sure to remind me that we did not want to try and taste the leaves! :)
Just a couple of reminders:- Thank you Alice for bringing snack this week! Next week's snack helper is Fiby!
- You may have noticed that a book (There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Bat) came home in your child's backpack on Wednesday! This is their book to keep! Mrs. Love-Smith received donations to purchase books for the 3 year old preschool class through 2nd grade! Your student will receive a book once a month for the whole school year! Each student has a sponsor that donated the money for them to receive the book! Kindergarten was so excited to receive their first book of the school year!
- Stop by and see the art projects that are hanging outside our classroom! We read the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and were inspired to create our own dot picture!
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at anytime! Have a great weekend and a great start to Fall this Saturday!
