HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.
As we come to the end of the liturgical year and hear today’s Gospel passage we look at our own lives to examine what we have done with the gifts, talents, and blessings that God has given to us. Have we used those talents and blessings to grow and serve God and our neighbor? Or have we buried them out of fear or confusion, or laziness.
In looking at the past year I hope we can acknowledge that we each have so much to be thankful for. Let us be reminded to slow down, acknowledge our gifts and blessings, be thankful to God and the many people who have used their “talents” to help us. That's why the celebration of Thanksgiving, although not a religious holiday, fits so well with our teachings. As we express our thanks we should remember to be thankful not to some ethereal universe but to actual people, the first and foremost being the person of our God, from whom all blessings flow.
Thank you to all who use your Talents and Blessings to support our parish in many and various ways. God is on the move in our parish and we are moving because of the dedicated parishioners, staff, and volunteers. Thank you all and may God Bless you and your families this Thanksgiving!
