Happy October!
Our Edge Season has kicked off with great success. Our first season is on the Ten Commandments and last night was an overview of the season. We played games with rules and without rules to demonstrate their importance. (Sock Wars anyone??) Even if your child was hesitant or downright mad to begin, we saw the smiles appear we promise! Thank you for entrusting them with us.
NEWS: We are still in need of parents, grandparents, and/or guardians of the galaxy to come and be part of the
Edge Core Team. Our current ratios in the classroom are less than ideal and it makes it hard for small groups to talk about the "meat" of the lesson. WE NEED YOU to come share your gifts. Contact me at
sbrockwell@saint-mikes.org for more details. Get silly. Have fun. Grow in faith.
Finally, I announced to the group last evening that we have a new
Associate Youth Advocate, Peyton Thomasson, starting on October 15th. In collaboration with our Youth Advocate, Mike Horvath, Peyton will lead the Edge Core Team and other Middle School ministries and activities. A recent Auburn University graduate, please pray for Peyton as she moves from Alabama to the East Coast and into her first big job! Get ready to give her the St. Michael welcome in a couple of weeks.
In the meantime, pray for Edge Transition Coordinator, Stephanie Brown, the entire Edge Core Team, and the Papa John's pizza guy as they keep the train moving while we wait for Peyton to arrive.
Have a great week. See you Sunday.
