Thank you to all of you who took the time to attend Parent Orientation meetings. I know this is a crazy time of year for everyone and I truly appreciate your commitment. At this time, nearly all faith formation programs are up and running. Here are some of the highlights and important information (in case you were unable to attend the parent meeting) you need for a successful year!
CLASSROOM FAMILIES ONLY:
I mentioned in the Orientation Meeting that we were not requiring parents to be in the classrooms as volunteers this year but we still need your support. My foremost need is to fill the weekly support needs. I would like to be sure there are no open signs ups between now and December on the Sign Up Genius lists. The links to the session support sign ups are available on the parent information webpage on the parish website.

If you intend to carpool to the classroom program, please be sure to complete and return the permission slip on the back of the parent orientation notes.

Materials are in a box on top of the cabinet in the hallway leading to room 206 in the main education wing. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will send an email to you when unit 2 is ready for pick up. It will include the link to the teacher's guides for Unit 2 as well as the Unit 1 assessments. ATM MITTEN HAT TREE - Due November 4-16th
This week we will kick off our annual ATM Mitten Hat Tree drive. Jesus, the Truth tells us to take care of the poor and those in need through the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Throughout the year we will present the children with opportunities to live their faith. In living our duty to serve one another, we will participate in two large Outreach projects.
The first Elementary Outreach project is the ATM Mitten Hat Tree. This week I will ask the children to think of ways they can earn extra money - through chores, services they can provide like raking leaves, holding bake sales, tag sales or lemonade stands, and more. Over the years the children have been extremely creative with their efforts. I will ask them to use that money to purchase mittens, hats or gloves for a child their age in Appalachia. All donations can be brought to our Opening Gathering on November 4/7 and 11/14. Each year we have filled a Christmas tree to overflowing with over 500 items! We hope to do the same this year. There are some very nice hats and gloves available in the Dollar Tree so this effort should not be a hardship on anyone. Please support your child by discussing options to raise the money, cheering on their efforts and helping them make a purchase.
I hope our At-Home families will participate as well! This has been a wonderful experience for the children and the people in Appalachia are always so grateful for our warm goods!

Family Faith Event: Day of the Dead
12:30-2:00pm in the Parish Hall
Come have fun, make crafts, do activities and gather ideas to have your own celebration of the Day of the Dead this year! This is an open house style event, come anytime between 12:30 and 2:00pm. Stay for twenty minutes or an hour, whatever works best for your family. All families are welcome!
