St. Mary Parish Light of the World Retreat!
The retreat will be held the weekend of October 26 - October 29th. This is an in house parish retreat meaning it is held at St. Mary Parish. The retreat is held on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday during the day and Monday evening. You will learn more about your faith, your community and Jesus. You will be able to return home at night and sleep in your own bed. You are fed abundantly! If you have never had the opportunity to attend a retreat this is a wonderful opportunity for you to draw closer to the Lord. This is St. Mary's 9th Light of the World Retreat! Grieving with Great HOPE is a five-week Catholic grief support workshop that will begin at St. Mary Church this Thursday. We as Catholics find hope in the risen Lord. We believe in life after death and the opportunity to live with Him forever in heaven. If you have lost a parent, child, sibling, grandparent, friend, cousin, etc. you are encouraged to attend no matter how long ago the loss occurred. Through prayer, practice, remembrance and witness we will journey together to become disciples of hope. The workshop is on October 11, 18, 25 and November 8, 15. 6:30PM - 8:30PM in the parish hall. The Sacrament of Confirmation is being offered for baptized Roman Catholic adults (18 years or older) who have not yet been confirmed. An adult candidate for Confirmation practices the faith regularly and contributes to the mission of the Church. This preparation process for adults respects the condition and spiritual maturity of the adult candidates. The ceremony for adults will take place at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Worcester. The prophet Isaiah encourages us all: “The Lord waits for you to come to him, so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God” (Isaiah 30:18). Deadline to register for Confirmation is January 11, 2019.
