Wrapping up another week in preschool and a busy one at that! Fire Safety week was filled with fun and learning. On Tuesday, we had the firefighters come and help us learn about crawling low under smoke, stop, drop and roll and Operation Edith. It was great for the kids to see the firefighters as people and then with all their gear on! It can get kind of scary!
We also had another visitor...Ty's dad, Brandon and their dog, Gabe. (I missed it because I had to take my daughter to the Dr. for a broken finger.) It sure sounds like they had great fun learning about Gabe and how to take care of Gabe.
On Thursday, we decided to learn about worms. We had been seeing them on the playground due to all of the rain. (Of course, now it's cold!!) It was great to have the kids think up all of the questions about worms! Check out pictures from this and all of our fun adventures on our Facebook page: St. James 4 Year Old Preschool.
Just a quick note: We have developed a cough in our room. It is a pretty nasty cough and sounds awful! Keep an eye on your children and just make sure they are healthy enough to come to school. It is that time of year! We are working with the children to cover their coughs and keep their hands out of their mouths! Hopefully, this will reduce the spread of germs. Please wash your child's water bottle this weekend!
SNACK: Addison and family brought snack this week! The cottage cheese was a hit! I love to see what each child likes to pick and what their favorites are! Thank you to Addison and crew for the delicious snacks! Next week, Harper will be the snack person!
STAR OF THE WEEK: We started our Star of the Week this week. Ty was the first one! It is so much fun to learn about the kids. The kids and I came up with 6 things we learned about Ty. The list is as follows:
He has 4 people in his family.
He tells jokes.
He can ride in the big tractor. (combine)
He went on a boat in a river.
Ty won a trophy and a medal.
Ty went to a restaurant.
Thank you Ty for sharing with us! It was also Ty's birthday today! We loved spending his birthday with him!
Next week, our Star of the Week is Christian Ortiz.
Don't forget to send hats, coats and gloves with your child. The weather is getting colder and we go outside at least once a day usually twice a day! Thursday morning we had some pretty chilly kiddos!
