We need your help with our 20 Hour Eucharistic Adoration for Life!
In preparation for the Richmond March for Life, Holy Cross will pray for 20 hours for LIFE in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
We begin 7pm, Friday, February 16th and pray until 3pm on Saturday, February 17th. We need 2 volunteers to stay in the sanctuary, and one to staff the door in the Commons.

The Blue Ridge Life Center exists to embrace all families in our community by supporting them practically and emotionally through education and resource support. We have parishioners who are currently mentoring ten women in parenting and life skills who are expecting children soon!

New! Adult Formation Featuring Three Saints!
On Jan 30th we will learn about St. Benedict (480-547 AD). He was drawn to be a hermit and focus solely on God, but spent his life serving others by founding the Benedictine religious order. The Rule of St. Benedict was hugely influential, and he is considered the founder of monastic life in the Western Church.
Come and learn more about this remarkable man through a video from Bishop Barron’s Catholicism: The Pivotal Players series, followed by discussion.
There is no workbook, no fee, and no need to sign up—just show up in the Commons at 10:00 a.m. or 6:30 p.m.

Friday, February 2nd is The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord,
also known as Candlemas.
Please bring your family candles to be blessed at the morning Mass.
The Presentation is a proclamation of Christ — Messiah and Priest, Lord and Savior. He is the light who came into this world to dispel sin and darkness. For this reason, traditionally at least since the seventh century, candles have been blessed at Mass this day that will be used throughout the year, hence coining the term “Candlemas.”

Holy Cross hosts our first ever Ultreya in January
What is an Ultreya you might ask?
Ultreya is a follow-up to Cursillo. “Ultreya” is a Spanish word, derived from the original Latin, meaning Onward! It was said by pilgrims to greet and to encourage one another along the way. In Ultreya the local community of Cursillistas (those who have been on a Cursillo retreat weekend) come together to continue their Faith journey through song, prayer, a fourth-day witness, and round-table sharing. 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
