We will not have flowers by the altar during Lent as it is a a time of penance and introspection. It is based on Jesus' 40 days in the desert overcoming temptation.

We need your help with our 20 Hour Eucharistic Adoration for Life!
In preparation for the Richmond March for Life, Holy Cross will pray for 20 hours for LIFE in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
We begin 7pm, Friday, February 16th and pray until 3pm on Saturday, February 17th. We need 2 volunteers to stay in the sanctuary, and one to staff the door in the Commons.

Holy Cross had an amazing time at the Diocesan Youth Convention this past weekend in Richmond!
We grew closer to our Lord by celebrating Mass with Bishop Knestout, hearing amazing talks, participating in fruitful breakout sessions, receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation, serving others in Rise Against Hunger, hanging out with our very own seminarians Carl Baumann, Paul Flagg, and Neal McCaffrey and by HAVING FUN in community!!
We are invited to participate in this synodal process here at Holy Cross!

HOW can we be a synodal Church in mission?
There will be four weekly sessions in late February and March.
Two options of four sessions:
Monday evenings at 6:30pm (2/26, 3/4,11,18)
Wednesday mornings after Mass and Rosary at 10am (2/28, 3/6, 13, 20)

The Blue Ridge Life Center exists to embrace all families in our community by supporting them practically and emotionally through education and resource support. We have parishioners who are currently mentoring ten women in parenting and life skills who are expecting children soon!

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
