Hello, Everyone!
There is always something to discover & learn in preschool, and this week Pumpkins peeked our curiosity.
A short story was shared to introduce us to the growing cycle of a pumpkin:
Pumpkin Circle.
How does a pumpkin grow?
What do pumpkins feel like? Are they all the same size or color?
What does it look like inside a pumpkin?
Mrs. Mac & I invited predictions from our preschoolers before we cut one open:
What will we find inside the pumpkin? "It's slimy!", predicted Grayson.
Grady: "I think there are seeds inside it."
Is the color the same on the inside as on the outside? "Maybe! But maybe it's different?", guessed Conagher.
After it was cut open children pointed out it was orange inside - like the outside.
Children had the opportunity to feel the seeds & "slime".
Seeds were washed & soaked in saltwater. Friday morning we roasted them!
Whooo was brave enough to taste them?
Fire Trucks are now completed! Yes!
Of course spiders still took up some of our time this week. Children just completed their Spider Hats! This craft took up a bit more time than I anticipated!
Cutting on 7 lines, counting & gluing 8 eyes onto a headband...listening to & following directions ...your child just past his/her first "test of basic skills"!!
It'll be fun to wear the hats to prayer on Monday. Will we spook the big kids & grown-ups?
Gym time was an opportunity to learn to play the game of "Drop the Pumpkin".
Next week will fly by quickly!
We are elebratIng Halloween,
