4th Sunday of Lent
Laetare Sunday
Dear Blessed Trinity teachers, students, and families,
"Laetare! Rejoice!" We have so much hope in the Resurrection and we're halfway there!
We have exciting news: we are no longer called "Pastorate 18" but have been given the name "St. Maximilian Kolbe Pastorate!"
St. Maximilian Kolbe was a Polish priest and lived during World War II. He was sent to Auschwitz where he took the place of a prisoner who was a father of two young children. St. Maximilian Kolbe was steadfast to the faith until the end witnessing hope and peace to his fellow prisoners.
When he was a young boy, Mary appeared to him and offered him a red crown (for martyrdom) and a white crown (for purity/sanctity). She asked him which he would like to have and he asked for both. St. Maximilian Kolbe knew that neither were going to lead to an easy life, but that God doesn't call us to ease and comfort, but rather to be Saints!
What a great patron we have to pray to!
St. Maximilian, pray for us.
