As you read the scriptures, take note of a word or phrase that stands out to you. God has prepared this for you. Let the word or phrase that stood out become your invitation to dialogue with God. Allow the word or phrase to wash over you and permeate your thoughts. Spend some quiet time in prayer asking Jesus to reveal what he wants to reveal to you through these readings.

Candidates Nicklaus Bolduc, Sarah Nagengast, Luz Perez, Jaleen Villalobos
LATIN CHANTS AT MASS
During Lent, we will sing the Latin Chant Mass parts. Using Latin reminds us that we are one universal, Catholic Church; Latin is a sign of unity. (Read more about Why Latin at Sunday Mass During Lent?) You may find it helpful to listen to the Latin Chants before coming to Mass.

SAFEGUARD THE CHILDREN
What is a traumatic experience?
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) defines a traumatic event as a “frightening, dangerous, or violent event that poses a threat to a child’s life or bodily integrity.” This includes events that victimize the children directly or events of this type that children witness, particularly when the person harmed is a loved one. A child’s understanding of safety depends on the safety of his caregivers. For more information, read the VIRTUS® article “Healing from Child Trauma” at lacatholics.org/did-you-know/.
